Florida-based Key West Fresh, an affiliate of Fishbusterz Fisheries, on Tuesday announced it completed the acquisition of Barnacle Seafood.
Key West first announced its intent to acquire the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based seafood processor and distributor in early June.
“This acquisition enables Key West Fresh to expand our position in the greater Florida market,” said Charlie Renier, Key West and Fishbusterz owner and president. “Combining the two companies also benefits our customers through additional product offerings and greater service.”
Fishbusterz operates a processing facility in Safe Harbor on Stock Island, Fla., and specialize in locally caught seafood, including spiny lobster, stone crab, pink shrimp, snapper, grouper, swordfish, tilefish, mahimahi, tuna, mackerel and kingfish.
