MSC advisor joins Trace Register

Trace Register on Friday announced that Philip Fitzpatrick has joined the traceability company as VP of business development.

Fitzpatrick is the senior commercial advisor-Americas for the London-based Marine Stewardship Council. He will strengthen Trace's presence in the global seafood industry, said the Seattle-based company, which has 300 customers in 24 countries and offices in Seattle, China, Japan, Ecuador and Thailand.

"We are delighted to have Phil Fitzpatrick join us at this exciting stage of our company's development," said Trace Register CEO Phil Werdal. "His broad industry knowledge and experience working with multi-national corporations make him a great addition to our rapidly growing business. The addition of such a seasoned food industry executive will further accelerate our company's growth in the food industry and will strengthen our existing relationships with leading retailers and foodservice operators. We couldn't be more pleased."

In June, Fitzpatrick took on a new role in the MSC's Americas division. Serving as MSC's commercial director in its Seattle office since 2006, Fitzpatrick now works part-time as senior advisor as the MSC searches for a new commercial director-Americas.
