New processor brings 100 jobs to Grimsby

A total of 100 jobs could be created in the coming year, with more likely to follow, as a new seafood processing business is launched in Grimsby.

Five private investors have united to finance the new operation, which will take over the vacant Mariner Foods factory on Great Grimsby Business Park in the next month, retaining the town-inspired name.

It is to be headed up by joint directors Ken Bottomley and Orn Jonsson, two significant figures in the area’s vital industry, under a holding company called Sealincs Ltd. Mr Bottomley was the founder of a business that became internationally owned Sealord at Caistor, having previously played a key role in the establishment of Bluecrest.
