New websites help buyers find suppliers

SeafoodDirectory.com on Tuesday launched four websites — lobstersuppliers.com, crabsuppliers.com, salmonsuppliers.com and scallopsuppliers.com — to provide seafood buyers with free access to information on trusted seafood suppliers.

The sites, which all appear at the top of Google search rankings, make it easy for buyers to identify suppliers by species and can be accessed at SeafoodDirectory.com or individually by species.

All listed suppliers are pre-screened and rated to provide buyers with accurate information. In addition to vetting the directory, each site gathers and distributes time-sensitive sales leads.

“Globally the United States imports 70 percent of its seafood. Not all suppliers are created equal, and the virtual world makes it nearly impossible to tell the good from the bad. Having a resource buyers can trust is essential,” said SeafoodDirectory.com CEO Neal Workman. “If I happen to know your company’s name I’ll find you in a second. But if not, when searching online by species the Internet is poorly organized.”
