U.S. seafood importer Newport International has brought Effective Sales and Marketing’s Steve Bruni on board to focus on developing new business across the retail, club and private label channels for the company’s crab meat, shrimp, fish and surimi lines.
Bruni has 30 years of experience in the consumer packaging goods industry with a strong and in-depth knowledge of the seafood category. He previously served as director of retail sales and club stores with Icelandic seafood and as director of club stores and foodservice with High Liner Foods. His appointment coincides with the company’s addition of its Jack’s Catch retail lines of raw, cooked, easy peel, and P&D Asian shrimp and its Pacific Cove line of crab meat retail cups.
The company also announced the addition of Tony Kemmitzer to its sales and marketing team as regional sales manager.
Kemmitzer previously served as national sales manager with Bonamar Seafood Corp., Pan Ocean U.S.A. and Twin Tails Seafood, and brings ten years of refrigerated crab meat experience to the Newport team. He will work in the mid-Atlantic region.
