Nissui: Student researchers wanted

Japanese seafood giant Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui) is launching a fund to help foreign students researching the fisheries sector in Japan.

The Nissui Research Fund will be available for foreign Ph.D. and post-Ph.D. researchers in fisheries science, aquaculture, processing and other fields.

Applicants must be non-Japanese citizens, enrolled in a university or research institution in Japan, not able to get another fund with regard to the same study content, able to attend the internal conference (date to be determined), and able to propose the study to Nissui after the duration.

The funding will consist of one-year funds of JPY 300,000 to JPY 500,000.

Applicants for 2012 grants must be received no later than 31 October and can be mailed in or e-mailed. Selection results will be announced at the end of November.
