Ocean Choice reopens Fortune Facility

Canadian seafood processor Ocean Choice International is reopening its doors after a year hiatus following an agreement between it and the provincial government.

Ocean Choice invested more than CAD 1.5 million (USD 1.4 million, EUR 1 million) in new technology and processing equipment at its Fortune facility to meet the requirements of the agreements on flatfish and redfish.

“Today is one step in our strategic plan to turn around the flatfish business in Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Blaine Sullivan, Ocean Choice COO. “We are excited about the prospects for this business and we look forward to continued cooperation with the provincial government, our employees and the people of Fortune to make this business successful and sustainable for the future.”
