Pacific Seafood prepares to rebuild

Barely six months after a devastating facility fire, American seafood processor and distributor Pacific Seafood is ready to begin rebuilding the Warrenton, Ore. processing plant.

The plant was destroyed in a fire in June, forcing the company to temporarily relocate to a facility in nearby Astoria. The company has to wait for its insurance claim and reimbursement, but the company said in a statement that it expects that will be processed "very soon."

"We expect demolition to take approximately one month to complete, after which plant rebuilding will begin immediately," said Micharl Roberts, Pacific's project engineer.

Roberts said the company has already begun preparing for the work, conducting surveys, submitting applications for permits and other work.
