Pakistan seafood exports up 11 percent

Exports of fish and fish preparations surged by 11.26 percent during the first seven months of the current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The fish exports during July-January (2013-14) were recorded at USD 200.4 million (EUR 146 million) against the exports of USD 180.14 million (EUR 131 million) in July-January (2012-13), according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

In terms of quantity, the seafood exports increased by 2.45 percent by going up from 82,470 metric tons (MT) to 80,495 MT.
