An overhaul of fisheries management in Queensland could help the industry supply sky-rocketing global demand for seafood.
That's according to the Queensland Seafood Industry Association (QSIA) in response to a Rabobank industry report showing global seafood consumption has risen 26 per cent over the past 15 years.
The rise is put down to growth in populations and seafood popularity in diets due to health benefits and the growing interest in Asian cuisine, such as sushi.
