Salmon smoker nabs fourth BRC accreditation

Scottish smoked salmon producer John Ross Jr. has been awarded the Grade A Global Standard for Food Safety from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) for the fourth consecutive year.

The accreditation coincides with the Aberdeen-based company’s 25th anniversary.

“We’ve always worked to the highest standards and Grade A certification not only highlights this but also helps to cut through the administration, audits and paperwork now required by the majority of businesses operating in the food industry,” said Christpher Leigh, John Ross director. “We’re proud that we continue to achieve the highest accreditation year on year and believe that it send a clear message to our existing and prospective customers that John Ross Jr. is a world class producer underpinned by rigorous quality control procedures.”

“Our Global Standard for Food Safety is an international quality benchmark that provides a platform for producers to demonstrate the robust nature of their systems and procedures,” added David Brackston, BRC technical director. “John Ross Jr. continues to maintain a high standard of safety and quality across its product portfolio and has demonstrated that it operates to the highest of international food standards.”
