Sanford hires marketer to fill new executive role

New Zealand seafood company Sanford has created a new executive role for “marketing and innovation activities,” and has hired marketer Andre Gargiulo to fill the role.

The company is hiring Gargiulo to serve as its new chief customer officer. The move, according to a statement from Sanford, is part of the company’s shift from fishing and exports to “an innovative customer-focused seafood company producing premium products for New Zealand and international markets.”

Gargiulo is currently serving as country manager for Cerebos Greggs, and also leads a Singapore-based team under the “Asian Home Gourmet” brand. He has worked in the past with major food brands such as Sara Lee and Coca-Cola.

“During his earlier career, Andre spent a number of years leading sales and operations for MG Marketing, a New Zealand based produce cooperative which, when combined with his B2B experience, equips him well to deliver Sanford’s strategic focus on growth in fresh sales,” said Sanford CEO Volker Kuntzsch.

Gargiulo will begin with Sanford in February 2016.
