Slade Gorton acquires Sonoma Seafoods

Slade Gorton on Monday announced that it acquired MS Intertrade/Sonoma Seafoods.

Founded in 1993, Sonoma Seafoods is a Santa Rosa, Calif.-based value-added seafood, poultry and red meat producer, with operations in California, Nevada and Illinois.

The acquisition expands Slade Gorton’s presence on the West Coast. The Boston-based value-added seafood producer has offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Chicago and Los Angeles.

“We are thrilled to bring into the Slade Gorton family such a robust and innovative company with an experienced and dedicated management team,” said Slade Gorton President Kim Gorton. “We look forward to the ongoing success of the Sonoma brand as we remain committed to providing our customers with exciting new products for America’s table.”

Slade Gorton markets its seafood products under the ICYBAY brand, which it re-launched and expanded early this year.
