Stavis strengthens sales, marketing teams

Stavis Seafoods announced on Wednesday that it reorganized its sales management team.

Doug Aikman was promoted to sales manager; he joined the Boston-based seafood company 12 years ago as a fish packer and has steadily worked his way up the ranks. In his new role, Aikman will focus on day-to-day management of the sales team.

Aiken joins a newly formed three-person sales management team that also comprises Mary Fleming, the company’s treasurer and CFO, and Stuart Altman, the company’s executive VP. Fleming will provide analysis for account and sales force budgets and transactions, while Altman will concentrate on sales training and development. With more than 60 years of combined experience at the company, the new sales management team will grow the company and develop additional long-term relationships in the retail and foodservice industries.

“Stavis continues to experience solid growth, especially within its branded product lines, and the creation of this sales management team is designed to help us take advantage of our increasingly strong position in the seafood industry,” said Richard Stavis, the company’s CEO.

Stavis Seafoods also announced that Lisa Bank will join the company as its marketing supervisor. Bank has more than 10 years of marketing, brand enhancement and communications experience in the retail, beverage and technology industries, coming to Stavis Seafoods from The Boston Beer Co.

“Over the past five years, we have focused more on developing our marketing team and enhancing our marketing efforts,” said Stavis. “The experience and talent Lisa brings to this position will result in a more effective, efficient marketing effort.”
