The circumstances surrounding the tragic passing of Jose Melena – who was killed in 2012 when he was trapped in a Bumble Bee Foods’ oven used to cook canned tuna – was revisited in 2015, when Bumble Bee and two of the company’s former employees plead not guilty to charges alleging that the parties’ negligence played a role in the accidental death.
