VersaCold wins two service awards

VersaCold Logistics on Friday announced that it received two service awards.

The Dannon Co. honored the company’s operations in Ft. Worth, Texas, and Anaheim, Calif., with 2010 Supplier of the Year awards for “Best in Quality.”

“It is a great testament to our dedicated employees and the ‘Best in Class’ performances of both VersaCold’s facilities in Ft, Worth and Anaheim,” said Randy Benish, VersaCold’s VP of operations, Southwest region.

The company’s operations in Sikeston, Mo., received Unilever’s 2009 Temperature Controlled Quality and Excellence Distribution Center of the Year award. Selection for the award was based on KPI performance, cost containment and overall commitment to customer service.

“This is a very meaningful recognition and I congratulate the Sikeston team for the service they provide at such a high level of performance, being able to do it consistently, and cultivating strong relationships with Unilever,” said VersaCold CEO Brent Sturgeon.

Additionally, VersaCold announced that it appointed Rick Loesel as senior VP of business development. Loesel has more than 20 years of senior management experience, including former roles as president of Frozen Assets Cold Storage and president of P&O Cold Logistics.
