Young's Managing Director to Retire

After 35 years in the food industry, Jim Cane, managing director for Young's Seafood, today announced his retirement early next year.

Cane has worked for the British seafood supplier for 26 years, serving as managing director for the past 11 months.

Cane's retirement comes on the heels of this summer's buy-out by private equity firm Lion Capital.

"I told the business some time ago, before the Lion deal, that the next opportunity that presented itself I would take. The Lion deal was the obvious way to do it," Cane told the Grimsby Telegraph. "I have mixed emotions. We have put a great team together in the last 12 months that will really get the business moving."

Cane will stay with the company to help find his successor.
