Almost 40 jobs are to go at a seafood firm in Northumberland after no buyer could be found.
Young’s Seafood Ltd. took over the Cumbrian Seafoods’ Border Laird plant in Amble after the company went into administration in December 2011.
However, the company’s plans to sell it as a going concern received a setback after a third party withdrew its offer.
Following a five-month consultation process the plant will now close, with the loss of 38 jobs.
