Red Lobster adds “secret” shrimp meals to its menu

On Wednesday, 10 October, Red Lobster added three “secret” shrimp meals to its annual Endless Shrimp menu.

The Orlando, Florida, U.S.A.-based chain of 749 restaurants introduced its Endless Shrimp menu on U.S. Labor Day, 3 September. The menu runs through the fall.

At the time, Red Lobster said it was featuring just two new dishes in this year’s promotion: Crunchy Fiesta Shrimp, which includes crispy tortilla-crusted shrimp that is topped with a three-cheese sauce and pico de gallo; and Sesame-Ginger Grilled Shrimp, a grilled shrimp dish drizzled with a savory soy-ginger sauce and topped with sesame seasoning.

The restaurant chain also brought back Endless Shrimp “fan favorites,” such as Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Hand-Breaded Shrimp.

However, a Red Lobster spokesperson told SeafoodSource that three “secret menu” items have been added to the Endless Shrimp promotion: Parmesan Shrimp Scampi, which is already on Red Lobster’s regular menu, and two new dishes – Garlic-Grilled Shrimp Skewers and Popcorn Shrimp.

Guests at some Red Lobster restaurants could already order the secret menu items as part of the Endless Shrimp promotion, but now the restaurant chain has officially rolled them out nationwide.

“The shrimp dishes will all be available throughout the final weeks of the event. This is a nationwide rollout,” Red Lobster’s spokesperson said.

Red Lobster has not yet released the end date for the promotion.
