Stolt Sea Farm is launching “King Turbot”, its new global brand of fresh and frozen turbot products, at the 2018 Conxemar expo in Vigo, Spain on 2 October.
The new range includes frozen value-added products including slices and fillets.
“With the new frozen products, the company guarantees the best flavor, convenience, and the highest levels of quality and food safety, for longer,” Stolt Sea Farms said in a press release.
Stolt Sea Farm, part of the London, United Kingdom-based Stolt-Nielsen Group, markets farmed turbot and sole under the Prodemar brand, as well as sturgeon and caviar marketed under the Sterling brand. The firm bills itself as the largest turbot aquaculture operation in the world, with 15 land-based farms in Spain, Portugal, France, Iceland, and Norway producing an annual average of 7,500 metric tons of turbot and 850 metric tons of sole per year. In addition, its U.S. operations produce 100 metric tons of farmed white sturgeon and 10 metric tons of caviar annually.
The company also announced on 1 October that it has established a scholarship with the Culinary Institute of America to help fund a scholarship focused on aquaculture.
