Turkey’s aquaculture exports achieved a total value of USD 582.2 million (EUR 521.7 million) in the most recent season, representing a year-on-year increase of 9 percent, according to the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB).
In volume terms, the country exported 118,954 metric tons (MT) of aquaculture products during the season, which covered the period 1 September, 2018, to 15 April, 2019.
This latest volume was 28 percent higher than that of the corresponding period of the previous year, when 93,169 MT of products achieved revenues totaling USD 536.2 million (EUR 480.5 million).
The Netherlands, Japan, and Italy were the leading destinations for Turkish frozen fish and fish fillets during the last season, with exports worth USD 87.5 million (EUR 78.4 million), USD 60.2 million (EUR 53.9 million), and USD 58.7 million (EUR 52.6 million), respectively.
