Introducing RISE, a Roadmap to Improve Seafood Ethics

Social responsibility is a journey that requires dedicated resources and an ongoing commitment. Step by step, the Roadmap for Improving Seafood Ethics (RISE) serves as a go-to resource to help companies uphold legal and ethical labor conditions and safeguard workers. 

Built by FishWise in consultation with industry and leading human rights organizations and with support from the Walmart Foundation, RISE offers seafood businesses streamlined guidance and actionable recommendations to:

• evaluate their supply chain risks; 
• understand and improve labor practices in their supply chains; 
• engage workers and make improvements that matter; 
• and communicate about their policies, expectations, and progress. 

Join this webinar for a guided tour of RISE, a detailed look at one company's approach, and an interactive discussion.

Aurora Alifano, Social Responsibility Division Director, and Nathan Zetterberg, Project Manager at FishWise, will provide an overview of the tool, highlighting important topics and recommendations. Participants will learn how RISE can support their work, hear how businesses are currently implementing improvements in supply chains, and can ask questions about the platform.

Next, Helen Packer of Anova Seafood will present about the social responsibility work that Anova has engaged in over the past three years. Specifically, Helen will explain what motivates Anova to address social issues, what steps have been taken so far to address issues in the processing and fishing sector, the challenges Anova encountered to date and anticipates in the future, and finally, how RISE will help enhance Anova’s strategy in approaching social issues.
