Top 5 most expensive caviar dishes in the US

The holiday season is an easy excuse to splurge on a fancy meal, and with the U.S. stock market at all-time highs, more Americans have cash to burn (or in this case, chew).

Across the United States, more and more restaurants are seeking to attract these customers with what is generally considered to be the most indulgent of seafood products: caviar. Caviar is composed of lightly salted fish eggs, or roe, from salmon, trout, paddlefish, or a number of other fish. However, the most luxurious (and expensive) type of caviar, including the beluga, ossetra and varietals, all made from roe taken from sturgeon – and particularly wild sturgeon from the Caspian or Black Sea.

While caviar is perfectly delicious on its own, these five restaurants have taken it over the top by incorporating it into their own extravagant creations.
