Clearwater is one of North America’s largest vertically integrated seafood companies and the largest holder of shellfish licenses and quotas in Canada. It fishes internationally for scallops, lobster, clams, coldwater shrimp, crab, and groundfish. It owns Glaciar Pesquera, an Argentine subsidiary that harvests and sells scallops, and has a joint venture with Clearwater Ocean Prawns. In addition, in 2015, Clearwater purchased Macduff Shellfish Group, which fishes for langostine and whelk in U.K. waters.
