Brooklyn, New York-based Acme Smoked Fish has rolled out Sauced Smoked Salmon Filets in three flavors, marking the latest value-added release for the seafood brand.
The convenient, ready-to-eat offering is designed to meet growing consumer demand for flavorful, protein-rich meal solutions, the company said in a release.
"Today's consumers are looking for convenient meal solutions that don't sacrifice quality or flavor," Acme CEO Rob Snyder said. "Our new Sauced Smoked Salmon Filets build on Acme's heritage of crafting exceptional smoked seafood while making it easier than ever to enjoy premium salmon at home.”
Useful for occasions ranging from quick weeknight dinners to protein-packed lunches on the go, the company said the new products make it simple to get a high-quality, flavorful meal on the table in minutes.
Flavors included in the product line, available in select Hy-Vee stores at launch, include teriyaki, Thai chili, and mustard dill, and each package contains 12 grams of protein.
Besides capitalizing on rising consumer demand for convenient value-added products, the launch also capitalizes on growing demand for hot-smoked salmon, which is growing at twice the rate of cold-smoked, an Acme spokesperson told SeafoodSource, adding that flavored items are driving 60 percent of hot-smoked sales.
The release comes less than a year after Acme debuted Ready-to-Eat Smoked Ahi Spicy Tuna at Whole Foods Market locations across the U.S.
The wild-caught tuna is cured, cold-smoked, and seasoned with a bold chili garlic spice blend.
“As we traveled the country and listened to our customers, we found that especially when it comes to tuna, sushi, and associated Japanese flavors, they appeal to a broad swath of the country – whether they grew up eating it or found it later in life,” Acme Director of Research and Development Sam Lopane told SeafoodSource at the time.
