Aquaculture and fish health service provider STIM announced it is acquiring OCEVA, a consultancy for the aquaculture industry.
With the acquisition, it plans to establish a new company by splitting its operations in two.
STIM said it will acquire OCEVA and create a new company consisting of OCEVA and STIM Knowledge Services while maintaining its product sales and distribution as a separate entity.
"By separating knowledge services from product sales and distribution, it will be easier for each of the two companies to focus and be clearer about what they should be best at,” STIM Board Chair Olav-Andreas Ervik said in a release. “With the skilled employees from OCEVA on the team, we are further strengthening our capabilities.”
STIM said the new STIM Knowledge Services will combine its existing expertise and advisory activities on fish health, environment, and land management with OCEVA’s “significant expertise and capacity” in the same topics. OCEVA CEO Kenneth Kaald Jørgensen will take on the role of CEO of the new company when it is fully created and, until that time, will serve as the COO of STIM.
“OCEVA and STIM Knowledge Services complement each other very well. Together, we are establishing a strong expertise environment within fish health, the environment, and consulting for the aquaculture industry,” Jørgensen said. “This provides a solid foundation for further growth, innovation, and value creation for our customers.”
STIM was owned by Nordly Holding, but that company began a sales process in October 2023, ultimately selling to Summa Equity. STIM then went on to purchase the fish health and environmental services arm of Pharmaq Analytiq.
