John Nagle, ESQU partner

John Nagle Co. and ESQU on Wednesday announced they signed a long-term agreement to deliver Safe Quality Food Institute certified farmed salmon.

The program will deliver the certified fish directly from farms to customers will full traceability. The goal is to involve customers more directly in understanding and supporting specific farming activities and practices.

“With this agreement, we are looking to provide a more transparent and efficient way to build a different kind of relationship between like-minded farmed salmon operators, retailers and their customers,” said Charles Nagle, president of John Nagle, a Boston seafood wholesaler and distributor.

“Having a means to trace and leverage the full lifecycle of the salmon from conception through to customer delivery is a key element of this agreement,” he added.

Based in New Brunswick, Canada, ESQU claims to be the first North American seafood company that sources products only from producers certified by the Safe Quality Food Institute and SQNB Full Circle Certification.
