Marine Harvest lands Lerøy executive

Marine Harvest ASA on Tuesday announced that it appointed a Lerøy Seafood Group executive to head up a new division within the company.

Ola Brattvoll will serve as director of the farmed salmon company’s new global sales and distribution division, which will be in operation on 1 January 2011. Brattvoll is currently VP of Lerøy Seafood Group’s sales arm, H. Lerøy AS. Previously, he was the company’s market director.

Brattvoll will take the position in early 2011; the date hasn’t been determined yet.

“He is a well-qualified manager with a strong track record within seafood sales and will be a major contributor to improve the coordination of global sales and distribution within Marine Harvest,” said Marine Harvest CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog, who also came over from Lerøy, where he served as CEO. Aarskog was named to the position in late March and officially joined Marine Harvest on 19 July.
