Marine Harvest announced Petter Arnesen, technical director, will assume the new role of VP of feed and environment Dec. 1.
The world's largest farmed salmon company made the because it's seeing a growing demand for information and attention to the environmental aspects related to its operations. Arnesen will be responsible for sustainability and environment, feed issues, issues related to reputation management, cooperation with NGOs and coordination of research and development.
Øyvind Oaland, VP of food safety and quality assurance, will take over as technical director. Oaland has been with Marine Harvest since 2000, and will lead the group technical department as well as continue his current responsibilities within food safety and quality assurance.
