Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group hires director
The Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group on Monday appointed Rob Mitchell as commercial director.
Mitchell has extensive experience in the food industry, most recently as group commercial manager for Macrae Foods, a subsidiary of Young’s Seafood. He is responsible for spearheading business expansion for the shellfish producer, including exports.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Scottish Shellfish,” said Mitchell. “I believe there is huge potential in developing the mussel and oyster sector through innovation and by targeting new markets. Demand for both fresh and value-added shellfish is growing all the time, fueled by the health benefits and the culinary versatility of this type of seafood.”
