Cecile Myrseth appointed Norwegian fisheries minister; Shaun O’Loughlin leaves the Global Seafood Alliance

Norwegian Fisheries Minister Cecile Myrseth

-Cecile Myrseth (pictured) has been appointed Norway’s fisheries minister on 16 October, replacing Bjørnar Skjæran. 

Myrseth will be responsible for policies on shipping waterways, maritime, marine research, innovation, coastal and port developments, fisheries, seafood, and aquaculture for Norway, the Norwegian government said in a release

According to her LinkedIn, Myrseth had been working for the Norwegian Labor Party for six years before the appointment. 

-Shaun O’Loughlin announced that he is leaving the Global Seafood Alliance after eight years as the organization’s podcast producer and learning solutions developer. 

“During my time at GSA, I had the opportunity to promote the great work of the seafood industry, travel the world, and most importantly work with some of the best people I've ever met. I want to be sure to sincerely thank everyone who listened to and supported the Aquademia Podcast!” O’Loughlin wrote on his LinkedIn

He is now going to be exploring opportunities in the podcast and audio production, writing, editing, and proofreading space.

-Sarah Baker has joined San Diego, California U.S.A.-based Anova Food as the new director of sales. Baker brings more than 7 years of experience in the seafood sector and worked in business development, sustainability, and marketing for three seafood startups. 

“Sarah will be focused on strengthening Anova's business relationships with key national and regional Retailer accounts across the U.S.A. Sarah will also assist the Anova team with new account development and new product ideation; as well as help us to better communicate our corporate sustainability efforts to customers,” Anova Food wrote on its LinkedIn page

According to her LinkedIn, Baker began the position in October 2023.
