Fortune Imports hires Doug Brinsmade, formerly of The Fishin’ Company, for executive role

Fortune Imports, the global procurement subsidiary of Fortune International, has hired seafood industry veteran Doug Brinsmade – formerly of The Fishin’ Company – as its new vice president of sales and procurement, the company announced on 30 July.

Fortune International President and CEO Sean J. O’Scannlain and Fortune Imports President Jeff Goldberg welcomed Brinsmade, who comes to the role with an extensive background in product development as well as seafood processing and sourcing. Brinsmade has experience sourcing seafood from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States, and has been a pivotal figure in bringing several marketing plans to fruition, introducing new products, processing techniques, and technologies that have become standards within the industry, according to the company.

“I have known Doug for many years and I have always been impressed with his knowledge and passion for the industry.  He will make a fantastic addition to the team at Fortune Imports,” O’Scannlain said in a press release.

As for Brinsmade, he's enthusiastic about the new opportunities that await him with Fortune Imports.

“I am looking forward to this new opportunity and working with the talented team at Fortune. I believe the skills that I have developed over the last 25 years are well suited for the continued growth of Fortune Imports,” Brinsmade said.

Brinsmade, who has also spent time working for Sea Delight and Anova Seafood, according to his LinkedIn profile, will work out of an office in Austin, Texas, Fortune Imports confirmed.

Focused on “sourcing domestic and imported products based on the key principals of ethical, sustainable, and superior quality,” Fortune Imports produces Coastal Seafood-branded products as well as Meribelle Crab Meat products.
