PAK Quality Foods, a regional food distributor serving foodservice, retail, and institutional customers in Texas and Eastern New Mexico, has acquired Formosa Foods.
Formosa, a family-owned food distributor based in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., produces a range of high-quality meat products, including seafood products, to a service area covering Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
“The acquisition enables both companies to grow by broadening the portfolio of products and services they offer to customers as well as by broadening their customer bases,” a press release from PAK Quality Foods states. “The owners and leaders of Formosa Foods, Mr. Jesse and Weldon Chang, will continue to run the business and [remain] invested in PAK Quality Foods as part of the transaction.”
PAK Quality Foods operates distribution facilities in San Angelo and Fort Worth, Texas. The company already offers certain seafood products, including cod and salmon, but said the addition of Formosa will expand those offerings.
"PAK Quality Foods is thrilled to join forces with the Formosa Foods team," PAK Quality Foods CEO John Pieper said. "We are excited to expand our offerings to customers and also to offer Formosa Foods' customers access to our products and service. Formosa Foods' mission of providing top-quality food products and being a trusted partner to its customers aligns perfectly with that of PAK Quality Foods. Together, we will be an even stronger company."
