Seafood Nutrition Partnership (SNP) announced its 2022 Seafood Nutrition Partnership awards on 2 August.

SNP said the receipents have made exceptional efforts to promote seafood health and nutrition benefits. This years winners are Joseph R. Hibbeln, a research scientiest; Trident Seafoods CEO Joe Bundrant; and chef Kelly Armetta.

Hibbeln is a scientist and researcher with a focus on omega-3s. He will receive the SNP Seafood Science Excellence Award to honor his role as a leader in the industry, with a focus on human health and nutrition and public health awareness. Hibbeln demonstrated leadership, SNP said, on the "Relationships between seafood consumption during pregnancy and childhood and neurocognitive development," which was published in PLEFA October 2019.

The SNP Seafood Industry Visionary Award will be awarded to Bundrant for his ongoing support for SNP. In addition to being a long-time investor in SNP for nearly a decade, the organization said Bundrant exhibits passion for public health and has dedicated significant time and effort in ensuring the SNP mission and enhancing many lives from seafood nutrition.

Armetta will be awarded the SNP Seafood Nutrition Champion Award for his leadership in food, health, nutrition, and communications through his expertise in seafood science. Armetta, SNP said, put in dedicated time to working with the SNP Eating Heart Healthy program. Armetta also accepted the challenge to create seafood allowing SNP's FISH ("fast, inexpensive, sustainable, and healthy") theme.

The award recipients will be acknowledged at the SNP Honors Gala on 21 September, 2022, in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
