Stolt Sea Farm names new chief commercial officer

Markus Zender has joined Stolt Sea Farm as its new chief commercial officer, effective 11 May.

Stolt Sea Farm, a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen Limited specializing in the land-based farming of turbot (Psetta maxima) and sole (Solea senegalens), said Zender will help strengthen its sales and marketing team as it expands the company’s reach. The firm recently hired a U.K.-bases sales manager to lead and develop its frozen seafood business and growth ambitions in the country; it is also in the process of increasing the size of its sales team in Central Europe and the U.S.

“The appointment of Markus Zender as CCO is an important step in taking the company’s customer division to the next level,” Stolt Sea Farm President Jordi Trias said in a press release. “We have ambitious growth and expansion plans for the coming years, and his experience will be key to our success. We have recently invested in improving our offering to customers by increasing the hours that our customer service team is available and implementing Salesforce’s world-leading CRM platform to enhance the way that we capture new opportunities and improve customer experience. I am delighted to add Markus to our team, and am convinced that his drive, strategic insight and commercial skills will bring a competitive advantage to our organisation as he leads our sales and marketing strategy.”

Zender’s prior career experience includes senior roles with German flower, plant, and vegetable cooperative Landgard Fruit & Vegetables Holding Ltd. and pre-packaged meat product manufacturer Abbelen Holding Ltd. He also served as CCO at Natsu Foods Ltd. & Co. KG, a company dedicated to the production of pre-packed fresh food including sushi, sandwiches, and wraps.
