Young’s Seafood confirms Showalter will remain CEO; Kestemont consents to director duties

Following the governance changes announced at Young’s Seafood that saw CEO Bill Showalter step down as a director of the company, the U.K. seafood business has clarified that he will still continue to be its CEO.

Commenting earlier this month on the sale of Young’s to pork processor Karro Food Group, Showalter said the company believed the move would be “positive for the fish and seafood industry as a whole,” and that the transaction “will build an even stronger foundation from which we can drive growth.”

Showalter was reported to have stepped down from his role as director of the company in a statement published with Companies House on 16 July. Michael Kamiel Jan Alfons Kestemont has consented to act as a director, according to a separate statement from Young's filed on the same day.
