Norwegian company Pharma Marine is introducing to the Australian market a squid oil supplement certified by Friend of the Sea.
The product, Calamari Oil 1000, comes from by-products from food production of squid. Australian diret-to-consumer brand Golden Glow will be selling the product in the country.
“In light of growing concerns about the ongoing viability and sustainability of fisheries around the world, Golden Glow are excited to be associated with Friend of the Sea as part of our commitment to a more sustainable future,” said product development manager and sustainability advocate, Arwen O’Connor.
“Calamarine is probably one of the most environmental friendly and sustainable high DHA source available,” said Pharma Marine CEO Leif Kjetil Gjendemsjø. “Science confirms that we need supplementation of DHA and EPA to maintain good health throughout the human cycle of life.”
