Celebrity interior designer and chef Martha Stewart suggests that diners be blindfolded before they have their first taste of Monster Mucus, which thankfully features oysters in place of the titular "phlegm."
This cheeky hors d'oeuvre plays the unique texture of oysters to devilish effect, and calls for two dozen oysters to be shucked and captured, along with their juices, in a beaker or cylinder for Frankenstein flair.
The dish, which serves ten, was a feature in Stewart’s Monster Buffet during her Halloween Monster Bash with Jimmy Fallon.
