This is another popular appetizer, designed to satiate guests’ appetite while they wait for the main event. The dip’s ingredients include crab meat, artichoke hearts, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, parsley, and roasted red peppers.

Maureen C. Berry, author of Salmon From Market to Plate, said the recipe “is a hit every time I bake it.”

“It's warm, cheesy, and sweet from the crab – with a hint of savory from the artichoke,” Berry said.

Berry recommends making the dish ahead of time so it doesn’t get forgotten about in the Thanksgiving Day rush.

“It can be made ahead (in the morning during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade) and refrigerated, and then popped in the oven when the first football game comes on,” Berry said.
