A food distributor is breaking into Canada’s growing Asian food market with Strub’s smoked salmon products.
Foodfest International 2000 — a kosher, natural and organic food distributor based in Vaughn, Ontario, Canada — on Thursday announced that a “high-profile” Asian supermarket chain has agreed to carry its line of smoked salmon products. The company, which sells its products in Canada, the United States and Israel, did not name the supermarket chain.
Henry Ender, CEO of Foodfest, called the agreement “a big step forward” toward growing the Strub’s line.
“We are confident that we can build on this mutually beneficial relationship and expand into broader product categories within the Asian market,” he said.
“We have expanded our sales staff in order to properly address growth opportunities going forward,” he added. “A new team has been put in place to focus solely on expanding Foodfest sales in the Asian market, one of the fastest growing ethnic categories in Canada.”
