Saucy Fish expanding in three international markets

Icelandic Seachill has announced it is expanding offerings of its popular products under the Saucy Fish brand into Europe, North America and the Middle East.

In an official announcement, the company said four of its products will now be available in Belgium, in 808 Delhaize stores throughout the country. The company, in its announcement, noted the success of initial release into stores in Australia and the United States last year.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with Delhaize to introduce The Saucy Fish Co. brand to Belgium,” said Paul Macis, international and business development manager at The Saucy Fish Co. UK. “International growth is a core part of Saucy's strategy so we're delighted to have this major listing secured within a leading European retailer.”

The company is not stopping in Europe. A spokesman for Saucy Fish confirmed to SeafoodSource that the company has plans to expand its offerings in North America to two retailers there, but the company declined to discuss products, say which retailers or give a launch date.

The spokesman also confirmed the company has plans to expand into Dubai, representing an entirely new market for the company, known for producing seafood products prepackaged in flavored sauces and marketed as ready-to-cook. The products available in Belgium include new cod loin with beurre blanc sauce, salmon fillet with Thai cuisine sauce in both 160g and 280g portion sizes, along with the brand’s popular sea bass with beurre blanc sauce.
