Skuna Bay, Seattle Fish team up

Beginning 11 June, Seattle Fish Co. will exclusively offer Skuna Bay Salmon to Colorado restaurants, as well as to restaurants throughout the western United States.

Several well-know Denver-area chefs have already committed to serve Skuna Bay Salmon. Seattle Fish Co. now has distribution over the entire western United States, excluding all areas north of San Francisco. The company joins other exclusive Skuna Bay distributors Santa Monica Seafood and Fortune Fish.

Skuna Bay’s craft-raised salmon has been successfully launched in the Southwest and Midwest regions and can be found at more than 225 high-end restaurants in 14 states, including California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri.

“As we continue to expand into new regions, we are thrilled by the overwhelming positive response we get from chefs anxious to start incorporating Skuna Bay Salmon into their menus,” said Stewart Hawthorn, Skuna Bay head farmer. “Colorado chefs are among the best in the country and provide innovative and fresh options for sophisticated diners. We are proud to partner with them and join Colorado’s flourishing food community.”

Skuna Bay, which is owned by Grieg Seafood, raises salmon in a pristine, environmentally sound manner and processes and handles the fish with extreme care. Skuna Bay also recently became the world’s first salmon farm to obtain Best Aquaculture Practice certification. The company also has a partnership with Aquarium of the Pacific’s Seafood for the Future program.
