Starfish receives non-GMO verification

Pacific Seafood-owned company Starfish on Monday received verification from the Non-GMO Project for three of its products: Gluten Free Crispy Battered Cod, Gluten Free Crispy Battered Haddoc, and Gluten Free Crispy Battered Halibut.

The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization offering North America third-party verification and labeling for non-GMO products.

The achievement reinforces the commitment Starfish has made to provide consumers with the high-quality products.

“We understand that knowing whether or not food is produced with GMOs is important to consumers,” said Valerie Davies, Starfish assistant general manager. “The Non-GMO Project verification provides shoppers with an independent, third party confirmation that our products are made avoiding the use of GMO ingredients. Starfish is committed to using non-GMO ingredients and will be enrolling additional items with the Non-GMO Project in 2014.”
