Tilgner's takes top honors at Symphony of Seafood

A cold smoked salmon product from Tilgner's led the pack this year in the 21st Alaska Symphony of Seafood awards.

The product, Ruby Red Ole World Scottish Style Cold Smoked Sockeye Salmon, took this year's grand prize and Anchorage people's choice awards on 13 February in Anchorage. The product also took first place in the smoked products category.

Orca Bay Seafoods took the Seattle People's Choice award, announced in Seattle on 5 February, with its cod fillets with sundried tomato pesto.

Trident Seafoods took first place in Food Service with its Redi Grilled Pollock. The company's wild Alaskan beer battered cod took second in the retail category, behind Ocean Beauty's black pepper salmon jerky, which took first. Ocean Beauty's original flavor salmon jerky took third in smoked products. AquaCuisine took second place in smoked products with its Little Sammy in a Blanket, while Copper River Seafoods took third in retail with its fishermen's favorites: wild Alaska salmon product.
