Trans-Ocean Products of Bellingham, Wash., on Wednesday appointed James Donald Mason business development manager. He will be responsible for managing the company's business at The Kroger Co., including the retailer's private label surimi seafood product line and Trans-Ocean's Crab Classic line.
Prior to his role at Trans-Ocean, Mason was founder, owner and president of Empire Food Brokers in Houston. He also served as Kroger business manager for the Bil-Mar Foods Division of Sara Lee in Nashville, Tenn.
"Don comes to us highly recommended by all levels at Kroger and I'm confident he will further reinforce our special customer relationship with one of the largest retail supermarket chains in the United States," said Lou Shaheen, Trans-Ocean VP of sales and marketing, in a prepared statement.
Trans-Ocean products is one of the country's largest processors of surimi seafood. The company is a U.S. subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Maruha Nichiro Holdings.
