Land-based salmon-farming firm Nordic Aqua Partners has hit another milestone in Q2 2026 as it operated under full run-rate on both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
In an operational update, the company said its recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) achieved a commercial harvest of 1,362 metric tons (MT) of head-on gutted (HOG) salmon, with most of that harvest toward the end of the quarter. The harvest had an average weight of 4.4 kilograms HOG, equivalent to 5.3 kilograms live weight, and it achieved a 96 percent superior rate on its salmon.
Combined with its production in the first half of 2026, Nordic Aqua Partners has produced 2,133 MT of HOG salmon, with an average harvest weight of 4.4 kilograms. Across both quarters, the company achieved a superior rate of 95 percent.
Total production during the quarter was 2,294 MT, bringing the system’s total biomass to 5,644 MT. According to the company, that corresponds to full capacity in its Stage 1 and Stage 2 operations.
“Overall biological performance remains strong with good fish health, no significant maturation, and high survival rates,” the company said.
The company said the Stage 2 is now close to completion, and the company has successfully transferred fish into all of its grow-out units. The first harvest of the fish growing in Stage 2 is slated for September 2026.
Nordic Aqua Partners recently reported a positive EBIT for the month of March, as its land-based salmon operations in China continue to ramp up.
