Bristol Wave Seafoods, a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Alaska Seafoods, has announced that Joel Peterson has been appointed to the position of president as of 11 January.
The company also announced that David Little will serve at Bristol Wave Seafoods’ CEO.
Bristol Wave manages operations of BBAS’ nine-vessel fleet, and was formed in 2019 when Blue North Fisheries and Clipper Seafoods merged. Soon after, the Bristol Bay Native Corporation – which owns BBAS – acquired the newly merged company.
Bristol Bay Native Corporation is the former owner of Peter Pan Seafoods.
According to Bristol Wave, Peterson fished on Clipper Seafoods vessels for more than 10 years and has worked in sales since 2015. He has also served on the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council Advisory Panel for nine years.
“I am excited for this opportunity,” Peterson said. “I have been working towards this goal for many years and I am determined to see that Bristol Wave continues to have the most well-maintained fleet in our sector, a reputation for the highest quality of sustainably harvested groundfish, and the best-trained and safest crews.”
Little is the founder of Clipper Seafoods, and served as the president of the operating companies since the 2019 merger.
“Joel is the ideal candidate to take over management of Bristol Wave,” Little said. “He is actually a legacy hire; Joel’s father was one of the original captains of Clipper Seafoods and a long-time Clipper director and shareholder.”
