Raw Seafoods recalls Wegmans’ salmon meals

Raw Seafoods Inc. is recalling two salmon meals it makes for Wegmans, which operates more than 100 stores in several states.

The recall stems from an undeclared wheat allergen in the Wegmans-branded Ginger Salmon Oven Safe Meal and the Salmon Teriyaki Oven Safe Meal – both of which are manufactured by Fall River, Massachusetts-based Raw Seafoods.

“No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported at this time. However, people who have an allergy to wheat may have a serious allergic reaction if they consume these products or products containing a wheat allergen,” Raw Seafoods said in a press release.

Raw Seafoods is working in partnership with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to conduct the recall.

“The company is also taking the necessary steps to address this issue and apologizes for any inconvenience caused,” the supplier said.

The recalled products were distributed to Wegmans stores in New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Only Wegmans Oven Safe Meals with specific product codes and best-by dates listed are impacted – no other Raw Seafoods or Wegmans brand items are affected.

Consumers who have purchased the designated products are instructed to return the products to their place of purchase.
