Harry & David is rolling out a new online gourmet butcher shop that features sustainable seafood, along with high-quality beef, pork, and poultry products.
The Harry & David Fine Meats website includes premium seafood such as Chilean sea bass, Maine lobster, Faroe Island salmon fillets, and Maldives tuna, as well as recipes, how-to-guides, and inspiration to create “memorable summer gatherings,” Harry & David said in a press release.
The website also features prepared foods such as Lobster Mac and Cheese Meal and packages such as Steak and Lobster Feast, which includes four USDA-select tenderloin filets (6 ounces each) and four lobster tails (6 ounces each) for USD 199.99 (EUR 164).
“We wanted to provide consumers with 24/7 access to the same type of fresh and premium products they’d find in their local butcher shop, all without ever having to leave home or sacrifice on quality,” Harry & David Senior Vice President of Merchandising Greg Sarley told SeafoodSource.
The trends of gourmet gifting and direct-to-consumer delivery helped to inspire the company’s online presence, Sarley said.
“People have been increasingly turning to Harry & David for gourmet gifting, as well as for self-consumption and looking for products that can ship directly to their doorstep. With this, we are seeing an increase in demand for many of our products — including seafood,” Sarley said.
Rastelli Foods in Swedesboro, New Jersey, and Topsham, Maine-based Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. supply seafood for the initial items on the Harry & David Fine Meats website, according to Sarley.
