Both the SeafoodSource Pricing Portal and the Sitagri Salmon Index have reported rising Week 32 (3 to 9 August) prices for Atlantic salmon from Norway.
Additionally, exports by mass were again up across the whole fresh, whole frozen, and fresh fillet categories.
The SeafoodSource Pricing Portal, which aggregates information produced by Statistics Norway, put the average Week 32 (9 August) price for whole, fresh Atlantic salmon from Norway at NOK 76.01 (USD 8.00, EUR 6.93) per kilogram, up from NOK 73.60 (USD 7.75, EUR 6.71) per kilogram in Week 31 and marking a 3.2 percent increase.
Year over year (YoY), however, Week 32 prices were up more significantly.
In Week 32 of 2025, prices for the category, according to the Pricing Portal, sat at NOK 63.28 (USD 6.66, EUR 5.77) per kilogram, making this year’s Week 32 average NOK 12.73 (USD 1.34, EUR 1.16), or 16.7 percent, higher than last year’s.
According to the Pricing Portal, the Week 32 export mass for the whole fresh category was 28,384 metric tons (MT), up from 26,456 MT in Week 31.
The Pricing Portal put the Week 32 average price for fresh Atlantic salmon fillets from Norway at NOK 136.17 (USD 14.34, EUR 12.42) per kilogram, up from NOK 124.59 (USD 13.12, EUR 11.36) per kilogram in Week 31. Fillets saw a significant 451-MT week-over-week (WoW) increase in mass exported in Week 32, up from 2,262 MT in Week 31 to 2,713 MT in Week 32.
The Pricing Portal put the Week 32 average price for whole frozen fish at NOK 74.25 (USD 7.82, EUR 6.77) per kilogram, up from NOK 71.01 (USD 7.48, EUR 6.48) per kilogram one week earlier. Masses of frozen exports went down considerably, though, from 428 MT on 2 August to 202 MT on 9 August.
According to Sitagri, which generates its pricing benchmarks for head-on gutted (HOG) whole fresh fish in FCA Oslo at the first point of sale to exclusively European buyers, Week 32 prices were up in all but the 6- to 7-kilogram category.
Most price gains were under NOK 2.00 (USD 0.21, EUR 0.18) this week, though the 1- to 2-kilogram category saw strong price growth on very low volume (16 MT), up NOK 4.77 (USD 0.50, EUR 0.44) WoW, and the 7- to 8-kilogram category was up NOK 3.35 (USD 0.35, EUR 0.31) WoW on relatively low volume (232 MT).
The benchmarking firm put the Week 32 average for 3- to 6-kilogram salmon, the most popular weight, at NOK 70.86 (USD 7.46, EUR 6.46) per kilogram, up NOK 0.92 (USD 0.10, EUR 0.08), or 1.3 percent, from the Week 31 average of NOK 69.94 (USD 7.37, EUR 6.38) per kilogram.
The Sitagri all-sizes average came in at NOK 70.99 (USD 7.48, EUR 6.48) per kilogram, up NOK 0.64 (USD 0.07, EUR 0.06), or 0.9 percent, week over week. Export volumes rose alongside prices for a second straight week in Week 32, extending Week 31’s unusual pattern, in which supply and price increased together.
Norway exported a total of 28,602 MT of salmon in Week 32, which was up 1,644 MT, or 6.1 percent, WoW and up 2,806 MT, or 10.9 percent, YoY.

- 3- to 4-kilogram fish averaged NOK 68.85 (USD 7.25, EUR 6.28) per kilogram, up NOK 0.20 (USD 0.02, EUR 0.02) week over week.
- 4- to 5-kilogram fish averaged NOK 71.10 (USD 7.49, EUR 6.49) per kilogram, up NOK 1.43 (USD 0.15, EUR 0.13) week over week.
- 5- to 6-kilogram fish averaged NOK 72.55 (USD 7.64, EUR 6.62) per kilogram, up NOK 0.97 (USD 0.10, EUR 0.09) week over week.
- 6- to 7-kilogram fish averaged NOK 73.88 (USD 7.78, EUR 6.74) per kilogram, down NOK 0.42 (USD 0.04, EUR 0.04) week over week.
- 7- to 8-kilogram fish averaged NOK 76.98 (USD 8.11, EUR 7.02) per kilogram, up NOK 3.35 (USD 0.35, EUR 0.31) week over week.
- 8- to 9-kilogram fish averaged NOK 79.36 (USD 8.36, EUR 7.24) per kilogram, up NOK 1.57 (USD 0.17, EUR 0.14) week over week.
- Fish weighing more than 9 kilograms averaged NOK 79.24 (USD 8.35, EUR 7.23) per kilogram, up NOK 0.56 (USD 0.06, EUR 0.05) week over week.
Forward prices out of FishPool for September, which sat at EUR 6,000 (USD 6,927, NOK 65,760) per MT last week, rose to EUR 6,150 (USD 7,100, NOK 67,404) per MT this week.
October, November, and December 2026 forward prices all edged higher as well, with October up to EUR 6,050 (USD 6,985, NOK 66,308) per MT from EUR 5,900 (USD 6,812, NOK 64,664) per MT, November up to EUR 6,330 (USD 7,309, NOK 69,401) per MT from EUR 6,130 (USD 7,077, NOK 67,185) per MT, and December up to EUR 6,750 (USD 7,793, NOK 73,980) per MT from EUR 6,550 (USD 7,565, NOK 71,788) per MT.
January 2027 forward prices rose to EUR 7,920 (USD 9,144, NOK 86,803) per MT this week, up from EUR 7,720 (USD 8,913, NOK 84,611) per MT last week.
Euronext noted that September 2026 through January 2027 traded at EUR 6,440 (USD 7,435, NOK 70,582) per MT this week.
Expectations for Q3 2026 were up to EUR 6,100 (USD 7,042, NOK 66,856) per MT, from EUR 5,947 (USD 6,867, NOK 65,188) per MT last week. Q4 2026 prices were also up, to EUR 7,000 (USD 8,082, NOK 76,720) per MT from EUR 6,800 (USD 7,851, NOK 74,528) per MT.
Q1 2027 rose to EUR 8,410 (USD 9,709, NOK 92,174) per MT, up from EUR 8,250 (USD 9,525, NOK 90,420) per MT last week. Q2 2027 also moved higher, to EUR 8,077 (USD 9,325, NOK 88,524) per MT from EUR 7,917 (USD 9,142, NOK 86,802) per MT.
Q3 and Q4 2026 combined rose to EUR 6,640 (USD 7,667, NOK 72,774) per MT, from EUR 6,373 (USD 7,358, NOK 69,848) per MT one week earlier, the largest percentage move this week.
Expectations for the rest of 2027 also moved higher this week, with Q1 and Q2 2027 up to EUR 8,243 (USD 9,517, NOK 90,343) per MT, from EUR 8,083 (USD 9,332, NOK 88,590) per MT last week, and Q3 and Q4 2027 up to EUR 6,677 (USD 7,709, NOK 73,180) per MT, from EUR 6,517 (USD 7,525, NOK 71,426) per MT last week.
Full year 2027 rose to EUR 7,460 (USD 8,613, NOK 81,762) per MT, up from EUR 7,300 (USD 8,428, NOK 80,008) per MT last week.
Euronext noted that Y2027 last traded at that same EUR 7,460 level, against a current bid of EUR 7,300 and an offer of EUR 7,500 per MT.
Prices for FY 2028 held steady at EUR 7,540 (USD 8,705, NOK 82,638) per MT, the only category unchanged from last week.
